Young people working for the future

The ‘Young People Working for the Future’ project at HTL Mödling combines motorsport with technical training in an innovative way.
In the 2024 season, third- and fourth-year automotive engineering students had the unique opportunity to participate in eight international rallies in five different countries.
As part of the Luca Pröglhöf Racing service team, the students were able to gain valuable practical experience in the field of motorsport.
This project is more than just motorsport – it is about promoting the next generation, nurturing young talent in technical and innovative fields, for example through sustainable initiatives and sports partnerships that emphasise energy and endurance.
In my role as sports manager, I played a key role in the success of the project. My core tasks included drawing up the annual financial plan, negotiating with sponsors such as ÖAMTC, logistics management (accommodation, arrival and departure) and on-site organisation. I was also responsible for communication with the car chief and other central coordination tasks.
Working together as a team was an enriching experience for everyone and a true example of excellent teamwork with great success!

At the 2026 Junior European Rally Championship (JERC), twelve students from the automotive engineering departments at HTL Steyr and Mödling will have the opportunity to gain practical experience as aspiring mechanics at six rallies in Europe.
Under the direction of HW Sportmanagement, they will once again be working in the Luca Pröglhöf Racing service team.
